Like the title says, I’ve chosen to study these 4 and I don’t want to study chemistry also I’ll be going for mechanical engineering so here goes :
If I somehow manage to get straight A*’s which I know is incredibly difficult, will the top uk universities consider me since I will have economics rather than chemistry

Mechanical Engineering requires Maths and Physics at the bare minimum and having Further Maths is a good touch. They won't care as much about economics as it isn't as relevant but as long as you have Maths and Physics you'll be fine to apply to top Universities.
