    Hello everyone
I briefly tell you my story... I studied in my EU country English language for two years which are completed and after this I took a dean's leave. I didnt study but I was a student.
Now I want to come back to university and start a new degree at Derby distance learning.
I wonder if the year on dean's leave counts as a third year?? If not I would receive a student loan for two years only.
And finally, lets say I'd qualify for 2 years loan only, does it mean the first two years are paid by SFE or do I have to pay on my own for the first year?

Not sure what Deans Leave is.

Student finance work backwards. So they won't fund your first year; but will fund years 2 and 3.

    Hi november25,

To help you better let me ask you a few questions.

First of all, how long have you been living in the UK and what is the course you wish to undertake?

Secondly, what level of study have you previously undertaken, did you gain a qualification in the EU ?

Finally when you say you took Deans leave, were you repeating without attendance or did you take a sabbatical, defer your place?

    Thanks Rona
