I have finished my A-levels( Edexcel) in the UK back in 2016. But I did not achieved the grades I wanted (BEC) and am now retaking A-levels (CIE) back in Malaysia. Will the old grades from the Edexcel exam board affect my chances at university now? I am now doing much better for my A-levels currently with A*AAB predicted. I am now applying with my predicted grades.

In most cases it will not. Your referee should make reference as to why you have improved. Be sure the courses you are applying for dont have a restrictive policy in resits. generally speaking most dont and as an international student they will be keen to take you if you get the grades.
