The Student Room Group

Eligibility

I want to apply for a student fees loan. This is for an undergraduate course at a UK recognised university.
I am a retired professional receiving a pension. I already have a degree, completed in the 1970s.
Will I be eligible for a loan?

What will your degree be in? Generally, you can't get a tuition fee loan if you've studied before, unless it's something like an NHS funded course.

Hi WendaF,

Due to you having a previous qualification you are unable to receive support for a new course of an Equivalent or Lower Qualification, i.e. a student, who has gained a BA, is unable to qualify for a Tuition Fee Loan, Maintenance Loan or a Maintenance Grant to study another BA.

Thanks

Katie
