Criminology in the US

I'm looking through uni options at the moment and currently live in the UK. I'm weighing up the options of either studying in the UK with a year abroad or applying for an American university. The only thing holding me back from the latter is whether a US degree in criminology can be applicable to the UK in terms of employment.

Thanks!

Criminology is basically specific parts of Psychology and Sociology, so the theory and studies are worldwide and sound in their basis  It isn't a course that is relevant to geography, such as law for example
