A friend of mine mentioned that they have a Halloween Games Night each year, which I think sounds like a pretty fantastic idea! :gah:

But it also got me thinking about which games would be best to include, and which the 'best' horror games are... so have you played any good horror/spooky games? What were they? :jacko:

Haven't played it but outlast is definitely one of the best horror games. A lot of the popular ones in the last few years have been multiplayer but have it more as a theme rather than actually being properly scary.

Some of the older Resident Evil games are good. The older Silent Hill games are also good.

    Also this:

Until Dawn- I managed to make most of the characters survive. Well except for Emily. I purposely let her die because she was being a *****.

Outlast- The jumpscares are good in this game. Outlast 2 was crap though.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard- because it is Resident Evil.

Here are just a few that spring to mind:

Fran Bow (2015) - Really creepy point-and-click adventure game.

Phantasmagoria (1995) - Roberta Williams' masterpiece. The sequel isn't as good.

Waxworks (1992) - Combat is awful, death scenes are brilliant.

We Know the Devil (2015) - One of the few visual novels I've played/read.

Elder Sign: Omens (2011) - PC adaptation of the board game.

7th Guest (1993) - Creepy puzzle game with fantastically cheesy FMV scenes.

There are so many good horror games. My favourite genre is survival horror. Stuff like Resident Evil (older ones, so up to RE4), Silent Hill (especially number 2; don't like number 4 onwards because they broke Team Silent's back, and then screwed Kojima over), SOMA, White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, Project Zero/Fatal Frame (couldn't get passed the first one  ), F.E.A.R. (don't like the sequels though), Outlast, Doom series, Dead Space, Condemned, etc.

The only game which can be linked with horror I have ever played was 'Super Ghouls and Ghosts' for SNES. That is really a nice idea to play those games on a day like this.

I've heard Until Dawn is pretty awesome, but never played it myself... sounds like I need to though!
