    Hi, I hope you guys can help me out. I have a list of 7 potential unis that I can apply to. I didn't get very good grades at A level due to personal problems (I aim to improve them this year, but they're probably not going to go above BBB/ABB), so the choices are not very good either. Most of these universities have a bad reputation from what I heard, so if anyone could tell me which is the lesser of all evils, or recommend other unis, it would be very helpful to me.

    I'm applying for criminology courses, some with foundation years for people who don't exactly meet the grade requirements. The universities on my list are:

    University of Brighton;
    University of Greenwich;
    Bournemouth University;
    University of Portsmouth;
    Plymouth University;
    Kingston University;
    University of Roehampton;

    Have you visited and had a look around the campus and the city? I live in Plymouth and the uni is very close to the city centre and railway station; so if you're having to come down by train, you're lucky in that sense.

    Are the courses exactly the same? The same course title won't mean the courses will offer the same modules.

    Not yet, I haven't had the time between work and health issues. But I aim to visit at least some of them this month.

    I'm not particularly worried about course content as much as the quality of teaching and general reputation.
