Hi, I am looking to suspend my studies until next September, I am currently in my 2nd year at university but I am unfortunately severely depressed and cannot mentally, physically and emotionally put my 100% into my course at the moment, I’m am really struggling to even attend right now as I have bad anxiety and a lot of personal issues to deal with also.

I really need this time to deal with my issues so I can restart next September and do my degree, to the best of my ability, but I am really worried about my student finance, my finance for this term is almost gone due to coming from a very low income background and most my money goes to my mum and food shopping/rent etc and I also cannot work due to my mental health issues right now, will student finance completely stop my payments or would they consider continuing my maintenance loan for the rest of the year and I would drop my placement year etc?
Is there anyway at all around this? I really am stressed and got so many issues going on right now I really do not need finance issues as well and having no money as my mum could loose her house etc??
    Please help😪

Student finance will not fund you for the rest of the year, no. But they can award up to 60 days more funding for discretionary reasons if you're ill. Whilst this isn't going to be an amazing option for you, it would mean that you wouldn't have to pay back any of the loan you've received so far.
