I just got a job last week at a local cafe and I went in today to fill out paperwork. There was section on references and I asked what should I put as I've never had a job before so they just said ask one of your teachers and bring it in next week (when I start). I don't really have a clue about references so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to ask my teacher for. Is my teacher supposed to write something about me or am I just asking for their details?

Sorry if this is a really stupid question

    Hi okayseoul

    Don't worry that's not a stupid question.

You just need to put their details down, with a phone number/email address and your employer will contact them for the reference. It's just a formality when starting a new job.

    Hope this helps!
