HELP - I don't know whether to do an American Studies degree. I want to study it with History but I'm reading stuff online that suggests it isn't a respected degree. I don't want to waste 3/4yrs studying a degree and then struggle to find a job after. On the other hand it is literally the only thing I find interesting in terms of studying. I don't know what to do.

Could take America-focused courses as part of a History degree? I know that my uni had all sorts of US-centric stuff available to take. You might be stuck with a couple of modules that you don't think you'll enjoy, but you'd end up with a history degree at the end of it. Plus you might find you enjoy some stuff you didn't think you would!

Problem with that is most good universities want an A in History whereas I only got a B!
