I currently study psychology sociology and English language in my last year of college. I’ve not fully decided what I want to study for university but I know I want it to be along the lines of dentistry/ pharmaceuticals/ pharmacy/ physician associate...

Clearly my choice of alevels aren’t appropriate I have considered in taking a foundation year but not many unis do foundation years near Manchester. So alternatively I thought about doing 2 hard science alevels in a gap year.

I’m wondering if this is manageable? Or if there’s any cheap places I could study the two like a home school or something

You need to check with dentistry about entrance requirements and sitting all three in the same sitting. I know its done for Medicine, but check for Dentistry as I think it varies from uni to uni,

If you can get the grades for foundation then you could do that with a guaranteed place in and no resits.

Science A levels are hard to do privately because theres the practical aspect.

You can do distance learning and that way do your own pace.

I did this, I did alevels but they didn’t relate to the subject I want to study at uni so I’ve done a gap year doing a btec that helps me get onto the course. I’m unsure about two solid alevels in a year. Maybe not the best idea. One may be possible but it really depends on how hard you’re going to work and have the will power to do.

Another alternative may be to do voluntary work that will really help in your ucas, again, this is what I’ve done. Lots of voluntary to make you stand out really works.

    Hope it works out.
