    I feel like Silica is another way of saying Silicon Dioxide, which is the name of the chemical species, not the mineral. Sand was what I thought, but quartz seems to be the more accurate answer.

    Silica is a mineral powder. Personally I would have accepted Sand, Silica or Quartz
