    Hello,

Im new to this forum. I was hoping someone would be able to advise me.

Has anyone aplied for ECs for any of teh medicine entry exams and been succesful for an interview?

I am to sit the BMAT on 2nd Nov and my grandfather has passed away early hours
    today morning.

What would you recommend i do in a situation liek this? Ive called the BMAT centre and tehy suggest applying for EC's.

Has anyone done this before? Should I not bother taking the test. I am in no state to be sitting the test as I have a medical history of Migraines. This situation is not helping.Im trying to look at teh bigger picture and trying to stay focussed, but my performance is affected. Is this a ssign I should not bother this year?

Any advice would be really appreciated. If I have posted this in the wrong section. I am sorry.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. May he rest in peace.

For the BMAT - If you still want to sit the exam and apply for special consideration you can. I have attached the document from the BMAT website outlining the procedure. It may also be help if you contact any of the universities that you've applied to that need the BMAT and see if they have any advice for you. Otherwise take a gap year and reapply.

Your best bet would be to call the universities and see what they say.

Thank you so much for replying. You'd think thats the 1st thing anyone would do.

I didnt even think of calling the Universities.

I dont get my money back from UCAS or BMAT, as an external candidate it cost me quite a bit.

Anyways, thank you for the advice and the link.
