I decided to move into halls late and haven't been able to get through to student finance is there anyway I can increase my loan in order to have money left over after I have paid my accommodation fees as my loan just about covers it
You may be able to request a maintenance grant, this will be based on your parents income and other factors. You really need to get through to student finance and ask them ASAP

There are no maintenance grants for new students. But the OP can request a higher loan now that they live away from home.
