    Hi,

I graduated from the university 13 years ago. My qualification is Masters degree in Ecology. This course was done abroad with my own funding, so I've never applied for a student loan before.

Is there any chance I could get a student loan to study an ungraduate course in Neurosciences? Is it possible to be sure in the outcome decision before I start all this time and power consuming process of returning to study?

    Thank you!

    Hi nevasg,

If you already hold an Equivalent Level Qualification (ELQ) or a higher qualification, Student Finance will not fund a second degree, unless it falls into the category of an exception course.

That means if the course you wish to do is an NHS course, then it would attract funding.

NHS designated courses are also ELQ exception courses. This rule still applies when a student holds a qualification higher than their new course, for example a Masters qualification.
