I've been looking and it appears I pretty much need 4A*s to get into medshool in Ireland. I'm predicted A*A*AA but even that isn't enough unless I get an insanely high score in the HPAT!

I think eastern europe is the only option as I'm a retake student.

edit: made a dumb mistake, read josh's reply. Sorry!

You would get 560/625 points but if Maths is one of your A Levels you would get 585/625. This is by no means a bad score as every 5 points more than 550 are scaled down to one point. So a score of 560 would be adjusted to 552. You would then need a HPAT Score of about 180 which is doable with preparation. Remember you do not apply with your predicted grades but actual grades. So try to et 4 A*s if possible. All the best! Read the document below for more info.

    From each medschool's page.
Last year the entry requirements were 720 to get into the lowest point requirement medschool which I think was Galway. Converting from A levels to Leaving Cert where A* = 140 and A = 120 (http://www.qualifax.ie/index.php?opt...127&Itemid=150), that puts me at 520 points in total. I still need 200/300 in the HPAT which would put me in the top 1% of all applicants or something nuts like that!

Forgive me if my info is wrong here but that's what I can see based on what I've read up myself.

That is UCAS Points not Leaving Cert Points. Refer to this page:

Wow, that was an embarassing mistake. Thank you so much, going to Ireland seems a lot more feasible now.
