Hi guys, I want to apply for biomedical science but I'm not sure how to structure my PS, my initial plan was to apply for medicine but I was predicted BBB for my A-Levels (found out my predicted grades at the start of October and my teachers would not budge despite me getting ABB in my year 12 internal school exams- we did not complete any AS exams), so I really want a good personal statement (I have my medicine PS, which I was told is really good from my teachers) but I don't really know what to talk about, I really want offers from all my universities. PLEASE HELP, and congratulations to everyone who has received offers.

If you could also say why you chose a degree to do with biology that would really help.

    THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH

    Hey Laila

First of all you worked so hard yourself to get those grades I know it ain't easy. Don't give up on studying medicine if thats what you want to do then keep aiming for it. I am on a Medical Science degree and I am aiming to study for medicine and applying to med school next year so time really does go fast.
Merely saying “I like biology” or “I really want to do this course” is not enough. You need to drill down to say which aspects you enjoy and why.
Make sure you thoroughly research the course so you can talk about the modules that interest you the most, and why this is.
Where do you want this degree to take you? Many people choose biomed as a stepping stone to medicine or research work. What makes you think you would enjoy these jobs and what evidence can you provide to back this up?
Write professionally, but in your own words. It’s fine to get your parents to help with your application – in fact, you should definitely ask them to check it for you – but always remember it’s you we are interested in.
Think also about the things you’ve done outside of school and how they demonstrate skills such as staying power, leadership or teamwork.
Don’t be afraid to mention your hobbies as these tell us more about who you are.
Honestly its just saying you as a person and your passion for this degree in science!! If you want to check some university out try Swansea Medical Science and USW Medical Science its feeder schemes into medical schools
