I’ve had tonsillitis for about 4 days but I just went to the doctor and got antibiotics today. I’ve also just got a new job 2 weeks ago and I’ve had to take the past 2 shifts off because of the pain, low energy and I’ve been throwing up . It’s a waitressing job so I’m also dealing with food and customers so I think it would be bad to pass on the bacteria and I couldn’t shout over the tables . However, I just took tonight’s shift off too and if I’m not better I really don’t see how I can go in then either .
Is that getting a bit ridiculous- 4 days off for tonsillitis at a brand new job ? I really don’t want to make a bad impression but I don’t know what’s worse, going in and being **** or not going in.
I’ve also taken the same time off school and dance and I’m feeling very incompetent

There is nothing wrong with taking time off for being ill, especially when working around food and directly with customers. You're not incompetent, you're ill and being responsible.

You need to get a doctors note and bring it into work for proof
