Hi, I went to the first physics interview day this Monday and got an offer 2 hours ago. (So pleased 😁) Anyway what to expect: At the start of the day you'll be put into groups and then most of the day is spent on tours of the campus/accommodation, talks and a mini lecture. In the afternoon, you'll have a 30 minute slot for you're interview with an academic (I saw Timo Gans). They'll tell you a little about their research and they may ask you a few questions about your personal statement/application and then you'll work through a maths and then physics problem with them. It was no where near as bad as I thought it would be so try not to stress about it too much. Success rate: I think my mum asked and they said ~ 800 apply, ~700 are interviewed, ~500 get an offer, ~ 150 actually enroll in October. (If I remember correctly). Good luck with your interview and I hope to meet you there next year! 👍
