    Hi all,
Now, I am aware that MBB are top of the food chain and thus I am also aware that unless you're an Oxbridge calibre graduate, you're going to have a hard time getting in, so consequently the vast majority of grads enter "2nd tier" Firms. I've certainly heard this term a lot but am not entirely sure which consultancies constitute this group, so firstly which ones are they, and what unis do they recruit from?
    Thanks in advance.

I would say after MBB, companies like Oliver Wyman, Ronald Burger, EY Parthenon, Strat & Co and then the Big4 like EY etc

I may be wrong as not into consulting

I mean 2nd tier you have your specialist boutiques, though Monitor Deloitte is often considered the next best after MBB. Then you have your other B4 (inc other Deloitte consulting lines), IBM, Accenture etc.

    These come to mind:
Oliver Wyman, Strat&, ATK, LEK, Roland Berger, Monitor-Deloitte, OC&C, EY-Parthenon, Simon Kutcher

Then you have some smaller houses and less prominent strategy arms: Credo, Marakon, KPMG Strategy, Arthur D Little, AlixPartners, CIL, Accenture Strategy, IBM Strategy and Analytics etc

The tier after that would be your normal big4 consulting arms, technology consulting companies, normal Accenture etc.
