The Student Room Group

Still unsure on what course/ uni to go to?

Many people struggle deciding which course to study, and even more, struggle to decide which university to go to. There are so many big 'life-changing' factors that come into play that it really is important to gather as much information as possible.

However, as with anything, you never know what something is like until you get there and try it for yourself. You wouldn't buy a car before a test drive, and choosing a university should be no different.

Get yourself down to any universities that you're considering going to, speak to lecturers and students, see what the city is like and get a feel for the place.

Open days can be confusing as you're in a new place with lots going on! For more guidance on what to expect and how to get the most out of open days, check out our open day guide.

Probably one of the best advice anyone can give for applying to uni - visit the place if it's feasible to do so!
