    so do they not use the admissions test at all when deciding who to interview? or would they reject you pre interview if you did really bad?

    They use everything. If your application is strong except in, say, one area (eg the NSAA) then you are still likely to get an interview.

    will a grammar mistake make a big difference do you think? I forgot to write 'the' when talking about the binomial expansion and I wrote "coupled with binomial expansion to..."

    There's only a "weak" correlation between NSAA marks and getting an Offer, nevermind an Interview. (And correlation =/= causation anyway.)

    At this stage there's little point second guessing the process, except to say Cambridge interview 75-80% of applicants so *anyone* with a reasonable chance of meeting the offer is likely to get an interview.
