Consequences of Interrupting Studies/Resitting?

What are the consequences of interrupting studies or resitting the year? Do employers look badly on it?

I'm interrupting from my uni this year, 2007-2008 for financial reasons - I'm living at home and working in paid employment until September 2008. Permission is usually considered from my uni for financial reasons, health reasons, or pregnancy. I don't think that interruption for any of these reasons would be viewed negatively by employers, and in some cases (paid employment) may be a slight advantage. The consequences are that it's a pain in some respects- I had to do this but I'd rather not have had to.

Resitting is a different matter- I don't know anything about this and I suppose it depends upon the circumstances under which you resit.
