Is it safe to go out to Manchester or Liverpool on my own on a night out? Watch

I want to have nights out in cities across the country, but because I’m 18 with no friends and I am really socially awkward I have to go out to places on my own, get drunk in pubs/bars then feel confident enough to talk to strangers.

Could anyone tell me how safe it is to go to pubs/bars/clubs in Manchester or Liverpool on a night out on your own and to walk the city centre streets at late times?

Also are people generally welcoming and friendly to people in those cities in pubs/bars/clubs?

    Thanks if you can help

It's pretty safe I think. As long as you don't get crazy drunk and go home with strangers. Keep in well-lit areas, make sure your phone is fully charged and don't go down streets you don't know. Don't take your whole purse with all your cards and money, take a small coin purse with perhaps one card and a couple of coins just in case you lose it. I carry a torch in my bag all the time just in case. I know phones have them, but what if your phone dies or you lose it or it gets stolen? Stay aware of your surroundings.
