    He's imagining himself back in the room where he and all his siblings were born. He's imagining that another younger sibling has been born, and he's watching his mother sleeping after the birth.

    'Stays pure reality... standing the passage of time' - I think this means that the memory of this has stayed clear, pure & real in his mind even though decades have now passed and his mother is probably dead.
