    Hey,

I was just wondering whether anyone could tell me a bit more about work experience for medicine and some good ideas for some work experience that is really valued by universities?
Also another question I have is do you think it would be better to have loads of work experience in only different hospitals/gp surgeries or whether to have work experience in other places such as care homes, mental health charities, hospices, physiotherapy and maybe only like 2/3 hospital/gp surgery placements?

    Thanks

Hey! So I think for medicine it's probably good to have a wide range of voluntary work in different backgrounds if possible You want to show that you're aware of what the role entails, which you could do by shadowing in hospitals and gp surgeries, but you also want to show your caring side by getting some experience in care homes and hospices like you've said! Of course, they'll be aware that it's not the easiest of tasks to get loads of experience in loads of different settings, so just do your best to get a decent mix and I'm sure that'll look good on your application!
