I'm currently in year 11 and I'm nearing the time when I will have to chose A level subjects that will later lead to my career and I cannot decide what I would like to be. Many of my friends have seemed to have a very distinct career path in their minds for the longest time possible but I can never decide on a job option. One moment I want to be an investment banker, another I want to be an engineer and then the next I have no clue what I want to be. Someone please help! How did you decide on your career path? - thank xxxxxx

Everyone is different. Some people have their dream job lined up from a very young age, some people figure out their career aspirations as they muddle along through adulthood. Don't feel pressured to pick a career at your age - you want to identify the things that interest you as this will propel you to figure out what job fields you might like to pursue in the future. You seem to have a few ideas now - it might be worth getting into contact with people in those career fields to ask them any questions you might have, or to arrange some relevant work experience to give you an idea of what working life is like.
