I’d do the same I think. I would love to see how the world changes and wildlife adapts.

I would, but I would likely regret it though.

Given how fast our lives fly by, I’d imagine 1,000 years wouldn’t actually feel that long.

    Im really mixed on this.

As a kid ive always had a massive fear of death, like what happens when I die and what will happen afterwards because.. im dead.
But at the same time, if everyone I love dies, then what is the point. Its not like I can just find people I love all over again.

    Yes.
I would become studied by biologists, neuroscientists etc who could try to harvest and replicate my traits in others, so everyone could live longer.

Definitely not. I can't imagine the earth will be a very nice place to live in a thousand years, I mean look at how the environment is going - I don't want to stick around for that.
You could stop that from happening c

I would given I'm capable of actually functioning, I don't really care about the 'you'll outlive who you love' maxim, you'll meet hundreds of other people who you'll fall in love with again.

Yeah I feel the same, and it wouldn’t diminish what you felt for your loved ones now.

If I continue to age, no thanks. I don't fancy that.

If this comes with immunity to ageing (or even total immortality), I think I'd take it. It'd be cool to see the future and everything that comes with it. Imagine how amazed people like Newton, Galileo or Da Vinci would be if they saw today's world and all the scientific discoveries since that time.

That said, I'd want a way out if total immortality was involved. If there is a nuclear war or something, I don't want to be stuck wandering around in a wasteland for hundreds of years.

Well, if someone made me choose between living forever and living for 1000 years, I'd choose 1000 years.

If we take what's been said about remaining reasonably physically and mentally fit:

Yeah, obviously I'd rather live than not live... I know it appears 'deep' to say you wouldn't want to keep on living, but if you actually think about it you're just saying that you'd rather not keep on living because, what, there are some aspects of life you wouldn't like? If that's really your view, why don't you just kill yourself now, save yourself the next 60 or 70 years of pain?

Yes. I would. I think that it would be interesting to see how the world would change in 1,000 years and be present whilst the changes take place.
