"Reasons for applying" VERSUS "Statement of interest"

Hey! can any one guide me as to the difference between "Reasons for applying" and "Statement of interest" so as to fill this important information in my LLM application to Cambridge university? Also what kind of information they are looking for under both these heads?
They will expect a bit of overlap, but there are subtle differences between the questions

Reasons for applying - Well, your reasons for applying! Why LLM? Why Cambridge? What do you hope to gain?

Statement of interest - What intrigues you about LLM? What is your speciality? any particular path of going down? Future career plans? (I think this might be more for PhD students, but they are looking for what you are interested in and why you are interested in it)
