I’m not really sure what will prepare you for the interview. But never the less, I read a great book by Dr Henry Marsh on neurosurgery during the summer. I would definitely recommend it.

I’m not completely sure. Search in the name and I’m sure you will find the book. I think it was called ‘do no harm’ or something along those lines.

What kind of things are you interested in?

I found James Le Fanu's The Rise and Fall of Modern Medicine to be quite an eye-opening read. It brings up some good topics to raise in interviews.

The Emperor of all Maladies by Siddharta Murkherjee is also quite a well-known book amongst applicants.

Oliver Sacks has also written some great books that revolve around patient stories and the intricate connection between science and empathy.

Finally, if you're specifically looking for topics to raise in interviews, online news websites like the Healthcare section of BBC News are good ways of keeping up to date with healthcare.
