I am in the middle of year 9 and i need to know what grade i should be in the new grading gcse structure 9-1. thank you.

It all depends on what you are aiming to achieve by the end of year 11 as well as your own ability and it's different for each subject. I would advise to ask your teachers to tell you but over all if you want a pass, you shouldn't now be expecting more than a 4 or 5 (unless you're working at a year 10-11 rate) as you've barely learnt any content or know any of the exam techniques. I know grades like 2s and 3s may seem low but if you were to sit a gcse exam now you would be able to score very highly as you haven't learnt all the knowledge.
