    I have to write a debate with for and against arguments about whether one person's rights are another person's responsibilities. It's for GCSE citizenship Homework.

    Could someone give me some brief points on this to help get me started? Thanks

    This may be way off, but points like;
    - someones write to freedom of speech leads to another responsibility to stop violent protests
    - my write to clean water is another persons responsibility to provide it
    - my write to a fair trial is others responsibility to be a judge\jury

    hopefully that helps!

    Thanks thats really helpful

    Now I need some against points. Why is it not someone elses rights not someones responsibilities?

    Here's a counter - that everyone's rights are their and others responsibilities. Ie one is responsible for their own rights and emotions as are everyone else's.

    Think about the legal side, so you have the following

    ie
    Discrimination act
    Human Rights acts
    Disability acts

    So

    You may have those break the human rights laws (legal responsibility to treat people to a standard), and also disability, race, sex etc. Are they responsible for their actions or is someone else for letting them do it?
