    Besides from History and Geography, what subjects at college and/or university contain elements of geopolitics, superpowers etc?

    Well...Politics/Government/International Relations, first and foremost...Development Studies, Economics, Development Economics, Land Economy (unique to Cambridge), PPE, various combinations of the above...

    Politics (in it's various guises as above) would be most relevant in terms of a degree, followed closely by Economics and related areas. Either would be suitable at A-level as a prelude, although for Economics routes (including PPE) you would be best advised to strongly consider taking A-level Maths.
