    Hi!

I have to write my first essay for History but I am not sure how to start. I have chosen an essay title to do, so do I now look at the readings and sources for that topic which is in our official reading lists, or do I have to do more outer reading, or is it a combination of both? Also, how much sources would you recommend for a 2000 words essay? How do you write your History essays? Any tips and methods you follow?
    Thanks!

It's really hard to answer this question without knowing what the question is, what the readings are (how many/how detailed) etc. Which exam board are you doing?

    Hi,

Sorry for being vague. One of the essay titles is ‘To what extent was women’s place in European society transformed in the nineteenth century?’ And this is for my first year at university. We have been given readings lists with a lot of sources.
