How to boost Science Grades? (Separate)

As the title says, I'm taking Separate Sciences and I really want to boost my grades. The thing is that I just find answering the exam questions difficult. In my Year 10 mocks I got 5s. In this year's topic tests I've been getting 6s. My Year 11 Autumn mocks are in a week. I really need to get at least a grade 7 so that I stand a chance with my sixth form application.
I have moved to the Separate class this year, which means that for last year I was on the Trilogy specification.
What I think I should do is write notes straight off the AQA specification?
The thing is that practice questions don't necessarily help because I just find exam questions so much more different so this is especially a struggle since I'm on the new spec. Should I revise off of the specimen paper?

Tips:Go through your specification
Teach it to others esp younger ones as they don't know anything about the topic
Read mark schemes that is how i got a in physics
Try khanacademy.com
Specimen papers do help
Ask teacher for question they probably have some or can make up some
