So only one or two people knew about my situation then it started expanding and now I honestly don’t know what to do. I am scared my teacher will find out. Should I lie and say I don’t like him and about 20-30 people know but I feel as if more than that do....

Trust no one. Everyone is a snake.

That's the moral of the story.

Keep your mouth and everything else closed because if you don't, you will soon find out just how many friends you do have, and, behave yourself and don't give anyone an opportunity to start any gossip about you or your teacher.

Even if he does find out he won't tell you or acknowledge it. He's a teacher and you're a pupil: his career is at stake.

If anyone else asks you about it, just say, "yes but I'm trying to get over it. He's a grown up."

I just wouldn't address it. You'll only draw more attention to yourself. If people ask about it, just say they're only rumours and not true. It's well-known a lot of teenagers like making stuff up for the fun of it, so just play it off like one of those. It'l soon die down and there'll be another thing for them to obsess over.

Considering it got to around 20-30 people, you really aren't in a good situation and the chances of him finding out is relatively high. Best you can do is avoid drawing more attention to yourself and wait until everyone forgets (and don't worry, most people probably don't care much).

Also tip for the future: keep your crushes a secret.

    Exactly this^.
But I would say if anyone asks, don't say yes or no, just say- I don't really see how that falls in your list of priorities to know. Or something. And leave
