Basically, torn between both. Planning to do criminology and sociology but wanna get pretty ****ed aswell for the next 3 years. Any suggestions as to which one? Whats nightlife like? Whats accommodation like?

Nightlife in Brighton is amazing; there's a massive amount and variation in clubs and bars so you can pretty much discover something new every night. In Bristol you have great clubs like Thekla and Motions, so it's still amazing but I'd say Brightons is better. The accommodation in Bristol I'd say is much nicer that brightons. In my opinion some of the accommodation in Brighton is run down and overpriced for what you get, but Bristols is pretty affordable and pretty much new wherever you choose to stay. In terms of reputation and ranking, Bristol is undoubtedly better; it performs better on the league tables, is a Russell Group uni, and has pretty great employment prospects. I was in the same situation as you, but upon staying with friends at each uni and experiencing the life there, I'm choosing Bristol over Brighton: for me the accommodation is much more worth it and the city is more affordable. Bristol also offer loads of bursary schemes and rewards for doing well in your course compared to Brighton, something which you may also want to think about if your family is like mine and not earning a lot )
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
