Looking for some honest review of whether going on a Gap Medics trip, for example, is worth it ??
Any one already done something similar I would love to hear how you found it!
Also which company do you think is the best to go with? The only ones that I know about are Gap Medics, Premed projects and Medical Projects.
Any opinions are greatly appreciated )

Gap Medics is the original and longest running. They've been doing it for years. I have a couple of friends who went with them to Dominican Republic and they said it was really good.

You can, but a) recognise that this does not gain you an advantage over e.g. someone who has just volunteered at a nursing home. Its all experience of a care environment and b) recognise that these companies run a huge profit margin. If its genuinely experience abroad/in the developing world that you want, then i suggest waiting until your're at uni where you can arrange these kinds of trips for way, way cheaper. Not least your Elective period, where you may well get given grants to go abroad.
