Originally, my plan was to live in student halls for my first choice uni so i applied for a maintenance loan. However, i ended up living at home and have still received £1030 that i no longer need. I don't want to be paying interest rates on money that i'm not actually needing so how do i withdraw from receiving this money in the future? Also, how do i give back the £1030 as I'd prefer to pay it off now? and will i have to pay interest on that amount even though i didn't need it as it was only a requirement for one of my universities and i didn't end up going to that one.( I had specified that i would be living at home if i got into the other university).

    Thanks,
    Emily

    Hi Emily,

You can certainly change the amount you need. I do have a couple of questions based on the details you've given though.

Are you looking to change the amount of Maintenance Loan to a lower total for the year? Or are you looking to cancel it entirely?

    Thanks,

    Stuart
