Hey guys I'm going to apply for university for Architecture this week I've finished my PS however I'm having second thoughts about my choices as I'm not sure if I'll be offered a places or not.

my grades stand at : A, C, E and an EPQ ( the E was in maths and I did go through some family and personal issues during my exam time which I have let my tutor know already )

    my choices:
    1.Lincon (112 tariff points) BBC
    2.Hertfordshire (112 tariff points)BBC
3.West of east bristol (88 tarrif points) as it includes a foundation year this is my backup
    4. UCA (128 tariff points) ABB - this is my uni choice that is a little over my predicted grades and they take tariff points which is a good thing
    5. Not sure yet

There's a chance - are those predicted grades or AS results? If they're predictions then it's fairly common for universities to make offers above predictions (especially for creative courses where you've provided a portfolio).

If you've completed your A levels then it might depend on what you're doing this year.

Worst case scenario is that you'll be recommended to take an art foundation diploma and apply again the following year.

Thank you for your response, and yeah the A and C grades are predictions whereas maths is an AS grade however I am retaking so it can change. However I'm unsure of what to put down as my final choice as I wouldn't want to put down a uni too high above my grades

    Hi Christistina_X

I'd recommend that you get in contact with the Programme Leader for Architecture, Silvio Carta [email protected]. He will be able to offer some more advice on the entry requirements

There's also this video from Silvio about putting together your portfolio which will be useful wherever you decide to apply to: https://vimeopro.com/uhcreatives/app...ideo/193860438

    Hope that helps.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Heather

I'd say those 4 are good choices.

You can always apply now to 4 and then add a fifth later - as long as it's before the 15 January it will get equal consideration (and by then you might have an offer for one or more of your first 4 choices and know whether you want your fifth choice to be a safe or a riskier option).
