Given some of the recent threads about homophobia I thought I'd start a thread that brought attention to the Asexual community.
Anyone think asexual's are lacking in understanding by people to which they face the same discrimination as those from the LGBT+ community?

No because asexuality doesn’t involve making a decision/going out of the way and doing something outside of the social norm, rather it’s about passing up on a ‘norm’. So it’s more about an action you decide not to take rather than making an action that doesn’t sit well with society.

Although ofc there’s discirmations in its own respects, just not equivalent to LGBT+ ones

I meant to word it differently in that it would have the same level rather than the same. I think it would be that there is less discrimination due mainly to people not understanding in what way asexuality exists. There are many forums online where people seem to be facing the same levels due to it still being barely represented.

Apologies in advance if I ramble a bit but I'm still new to identifying myself as an Asexual. I thought it would be a good idea to make a post about it in case anyone else wanted to add to the conversation.
