Hi I'm an Irish Citizen and I live in Ireland. I have applied to a Nursing course in a University in Uxbridge. I am wondering how am I going to pay for my tuition? I believe that I can't apply for a student loan as I am not a UK resident.

    Hi Estefanie,

As an Irish citizen who hasn't been ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course you may be eligible to apply for a Tuition Fee Loan as an EU student.

In order to apply you must meet the following residency criteria:

    - resident within the EEA/Switzerland for 3 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course (we can consider temporary absence breaks)

    - and resident in the UK for the first day of the course (not the academic year)

You can print the required application form from the Student Finance Forms section of gov.uk

    Regards,

    Stuart
