    I’m thinking of studying history, government & politics & sociology at a level. Will top universities accept me with these a levels or consider them too ‘soft’.
    I’m thinking of doing a history degree.

    You should always check the entrance requirements for the top unis you wish to apply to just to make sure of what they want. You should be fine , but some of the higher unis might require 2 facilitating subjects, but most 90%+ of unis will not.
