Fig. 3.1 shows a boat that has been lifted out of a river. The boat is suspended by two ropes. It is stationary.

Determine
(i) the moment of the weight of the boat about the point P
(ii) the tension T1
(iii) the tension T2

use what i suggested above... you get 2 equations ... solve the first equation to find T1 and use that to find T2 in the second equation.
