Is it important to have a spring week if you're doing a placement year? watch

    No it isn't important but it would most definitely help.

    Off-cycle internships have much much much less competition than summer internships and much less competition than spring insights, so you're in a better position. However, because of SEO and Deere recently, more and more off-cycles are heading in that direction to those people doing placements.

    Nevertheless there's absolutely nothing that can hurt you by doing a spring insight, only benefit you. They might give you an off-cycle two years down the line straight away, or offer you a summer internship, in which case you can either workaround your placement so it doesn't conflict or consider consulting your university if it's worth giving up the placement year and going straight into 3rd after your summer internship.
