So what??does the fact that RH doesnt have its own forum mean something?Since when unis need a UKL forum to gain respect?
RH is a great uni...Not very well-known cause it has limited subjects...no law or medicine for example. For the subjects they teach i think they beat Kings anytime

no it's just silly that it isn't featured there seeing as so many members are going there or intend to, i think it is becoming pretty well known tbh as it's ranked second in the south east region after Oxford, and consistently appears at 15/16/17 (def in the top twenty) in the league tables, usually higher than kings, they're very recognised for their Arts, esp history, english, drama etc and their psychology department is up there with the likes of those in the top ten (i know this because my younger sis is applying), however methinks UCL outclasses both Kings and royal holloway

It's also a top ten university for History... and its Music department has the top 5* rating for research! Yay! I'm going to be taught by world-class academics!

RHUL is definitely as good a university as Kings. In fact in the 2005 Times university league table Holloway has overtaken it! (though only just).

Oh yes and I forgot to say, RHUL is one of the top 10 universities for research - all of its departments are ranked either 4, 5, or 5*. I know research isn't everything when deciding if a university is good or not, but there's no denying that it's an important factor.

UCL is a multifaculty university, you cant compare it with RH...RH offers less than half the programmes UCL offers. However if someone is not concerned so much for the "name" and looks at individual departments i think the right thing would be to choose RH over UCL for compsci for instance. They have a super information security dep maybe the best in the uk...
By the way i'm an IC student so i'm not prejudiced towards RH.I just happen to know how things work there.

um, i'm interested in medical physics...do u happen to know about the physics department? i heard royal holloway is really good for physics, but do u think its better than UCL?
also, i know someone who did a physics degree (BSc) at RH, then a med phy year at ucl, do u recommend that?

Well according to the times and the guardian league table it is.Guardian ranks it 1st in the country (http://education.guardian.co.uk/higher/unitable/0,11985,721812,00.html) and times ranks RH 21st and UCL 22nd (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/section/0,,6734,00.html).
Acording to what i know from people it is one of the toughest deps at the uni.
If i were you though,i would prefer going to UCL and do everything there instead of switching after the BSc.But sometimes people prefer changing environment after 3 years...it's up to you
ne1 going royal holloway next september? im doing management ne1 else too?

I'm starting at RHUL this year - but I'm going straight into the second year because I'm transferring after doing my first year at a different university. Good luck to everyone about to start their first year at RHUL! If you're nervous, just think, at least everyone else in your year will be in the same boat as you... I'm having to start at a new university where I don't know anyone - BUT - everyone else in my year will already be in friendship groups... *sigh* At least I know the other people I'm transferring with (we were transferred as a group).
