i know the way it normally goes, if you have continued to get an A2 in a subject, your AS qualification disappears. however, my graphic design teacher confidently told me that graphic design is different in how we actually keep our AS as a separate qualification from our A2. I am now doing a foundation diploma that this same sixth form and applying to universities, so i have these qualification already. however everything is still saying that our AS disappears when we got our A2 as a general term for all subjects (it actually says this on the website for calculating your ucas points). i've asked a different graphics teacher, and she genuinely doesn't know

so... help? i'm applying soon and i need to know which universities are realistic (plus i don't want to accidentally be lying about how many points i have)

Your AS doesn't disappear, it still needs to be declared on UCAS. But if you have a full A-level you can't include the AS in any UCAS tariff points calculations.
