Since all of my previous tasks have had a 900 word limit, I've been working on separate essays for my application, but I'm used to using a more concise manner and I doubt I'll get anywhere close 2,000 words. I'm applying to Oriental Studies (Japanese) and one of the essays I've been writing is about the definitive concepts of Japanese society, but I have 1,368 words for it. Should I be freaking out?

I think it should be fine. I submitted my written work for Cambridge (I'm applying for Theology) and it was a maximum of 2000 and mine was 6000 words. I didn't realize until after it had gone.... I don't think they'll sit there and count tbh. Best of luck!!! x

2000 and 6000 is a large noticeable difference though.

I'm trying not to not think about that tbh haha! I was happy with the quality and it was such a gargantuan topic and I was so happy with it- I just sent it. I'll get an interview or I won't That's what I'm trying to think about and I only sent one piece. They're only looking at how you write- I'm sure they won't be that savage about word count if the quality is good and shows who you are? That's how I'm trying to think now that it's gone.

Oriental studies sounds amazing though wow
