What do you do if someone holds your coat or in front of you? Basically, I found a new salon, and they took my coat and bag when I came in. After the appointment was done, the hairdresser got my coat out and held it by the shoulders. I was confused whether I was supposed to take it and put it on, or out it on while they were holding(which to me seems disrespectful). Same situation with my bag. What are you supposed to do?

They are holding it out for you to put it on ie to put your arms in and put it on. You can tell by the way they hold it. Just say thank you. You then take the bag from them. Didnt you do similar as a young child?

What do you mean? Thank you for clarifying. To me it seems disrespectful having them hold it while I put it on. Like they're not servants or anything.

Its just a courtesy. They wouldnt offer if they didnt feel it was ok. Its a service.
If you are uncomfy about it, then juts take the coat and thank them. No big deal.
