    Hi,

I've recently graduated for Oxford and am applying for vacation schemes at law firms. In the first two years of university I was suffering with depression as a result of an abusive relationship I was in. At the time I was receiving counselling and on medication. This relationship basically ended badly just before my second year exams and I didn't do very well, I did okay on two exams (got solid 2:1s) but in one exam I got 45%... I worked really hard in my final year, got 80% for my dissertation, and got a mid 2:1 overall. On the application forms it says that you should mention any extenuating circumstances. I never officially asked for extenuating circumstances at university, but does anyone have any advice if it would be worth mentioning this on my applications? And if so, what would be the best way to go about it without looking like I'm generally mentally unstable?

    Thanks xoxo
